D&B's DUNSRight™ Quality Assurance Process
DUNSRight is the framework that makes D&B® data more accurate than its competitors. DUNSRight provides high quality, consistent, timely business information that enables you to make more informed, profitable decisions. It consists of a quality assurance process and five quality drivers.

Quality Assurance
Over 2,000 information computer validations, manual validation checks and reviews ensure a high standard of data quality. Cross-check processes identify potential duplicate businesses, and the entire marketing database is run through address standardization and Zip+4 assignments every month.

Global Data Collection
D&B's extensive business information database covers over 82,000,000 companies worldwide. Information is collected from a wide variety of sources, including:
  • Direct investigations and interviews with the company principals.
  • Payment and banking data from company suppliers, which provides over 650,000,000 payment experiences annually.
  • Suits, liens, judgment, UCCs, business registrations, corporate details and bankruptcy filings from state and county courthouses, resulting in over 130,000,000 records on file.
  • Corporate financial reports and filings within 48-72 hours of filing.
  • Contracts, grants, loans and debarments from the federal government.
  • Web source and mining of over 27,000,000 domains.
  • News and media sources.
  • Yellow page and print directories.

Entity Matching
Entity Matching detects similarities in incoming data and more accurately combines it into a single record for one business. D&B's patented "Match Grade" technology takes over 160 years of manual matching experience and automates the process. Customers benefit from more accurate matching, fewer duplicate records and feedback on the overall quality of matches.

D-U-N-S® Number
The D-U-N-S number allows global tracking and identification of a business and any changes it goes through. This identification number is retained for the life of the business, is never recycled, and acts as the global standard for business identification for the United Nations, European Commission and over 50 industry groups.

Corporate Linkage
Corporate family trees are built to provide a total view of risk and opportunity. Using the D-U-N-S number, members of corporate families are identified by their relationship to other members - Global Ultimate, Domestic Ultimate, Parent Corporation, Subsidiary, Headquarters and Branch.

Predictive Indicators
Statistical analysis is used to predict the likelihood of a business performing in a certain way in the future. These indicators include descriptive ratings, predictive scores, and demand estimators.
